This week in Talei’s literacy group we have been learning about poems and writing in second person- second person is when you use words like you and your. Authors use it to help the people reading it think it is them in the poem. In our poems we had to have the 5 senses, Hear, smell, taste, touch and sight, this helps the reader make an image in their head. We also had to add a similes and metaphors to add interest to the poem.
Packing your gear
your ice cold water bottle
Old muddy boots
your new bitten mouthguard
Putting on your new outfit
dad yells to get into the car,
Driving like a turtle
You get to the fields
Meeting your team
Fizzing with excitement
warming up
passing the ball to each other
Gripping tightly as you pass it to your teammate
Running onto the field
ready for the game,
smelling the fresh green grass
Sweat dripping down your face
The crowd roaring like lions
You score the winning try
Shaking hands with the other team
You receive player of the day
Team jumping with excitement
You hop in the warm car
Heaters bumping
Dad speeding on the highway
Waiting for your warm dinner
Slurping the leftover sauce on your plate
Running to the shower
The shower running fast like a tap
You get your pajamas on
Hopping into you bed
Nice and cozy
Falling asleep
After a nice long day at rugby

Have you ever made a Christmas Bauble before?

This week we have been reading a story called The Matakiti And The Mokai. For the create task Freida’s mum Christie did weaving with the year 5 ‘s and 6’s. I found it a bit challenging because I was hard to make a plat with such hard material.

For Cyber-Smart we had to create a scratch game based on are Children of the rush novel for are reading. The person in the maze is trying to get to the goldfield and on the way she had to try and get gold. Have you ever made something on scratch game before and if you have what done something on scratch before what did you have to do on there? I hoped you liked it.
